The super shotgun makes it's triumphant appearance and man is it a blast to use. Well.superior in some ways but to me, inferior all around. The foundation was laid when id software released Doom but Doom II built upon it and created something special, for those who liked/loved the first game you will not complain playing through this one.ฤก2h 21m Playeddifficulty played: Ultra violence Doom 2, the sequel to the beloved original. The new enemy types add more difficulty to the game with pain elementals that can spawn infinite amount of lost souls unless they're killed, arch-viles that can lock on to you and deal a great amount of damage unless the line of sight is broken, or the revenant's homing fireballs that can track you across the entire map unless the line of sight is also broken similar the to arch-vile. In some levels, you can see the map drawn over the horizon removing the close quarters combat that Doom had with much more open maps ranging from close indoor fighting to outdoor long range battles. The level design is much for sophisticated with greater heights and greater detail put into the levels creating a really cool sense of atmosphere that Doom didn't really capture. Doom II is back with 30 new levels to fight through as the hell invasion comes to earth, with new enemies such as the Arachnotrons, Heavy Weapons Dude, Revenants, Pain Elementals and Arch-viles and the addition of a new weapon, the super-shotgun, which absolutely melts anything standing in your way with better damage and spread compared to the regular shotgun. 3h PlayedThe first game already made a good first impression with the fancy 2.5D graphics, elevated level design allowing for sophisticated levels and the arsenal of weapons to kill the different variations of demons around the map.
